ieb translation services began making the last necessary adjustments to get the quality standard ISO 17100 which establishes the competences and qualifications that the staff in charge of translation tasks must comply with: translators, reviewers and other professionals.

This international quality standard details that “the requisites for all aspects of the translation process have a direct impact on the quality and provision of translation services”. 

Its purpose is to describe the service provided to the clients through a set of processes acknowledged as good practices

ISO 17100: The most important aspects.

  • The so-called translation is only one of the stages of the process.
  • Quality is warranted by a revision made by a professional other than the translator.
  • Translators always hold a professional qualification and more than five years of experience.
  • Each of the participants in the translation process possess excellent professional competences: not only translators, but also reviewers and project managers involved in production.
